Career Assessments

Choosing a career that truly fits starts with understanding yourself—your strengths, preferences, and values. My career assessments offer scientifically validated insights to help you make confident, informed decisions about your next steps. Whether you're just starting out or considering a career change, these tools provide a solid foundation for our coaching process.

What are career assessments?

Career assessments are tools designed to bring clarity and direction to your career journey. They help uncover your unique interests, personality traits, and cognitive strengths, ensuring your career choices align with who you are and what matters most to you.

Core assessments I use

Interest assessments

Interest assessments help uncover career fields and roles that resonate with your unique passions. Whether you’re exploring new opportunities or looking for ways to find greater fulfillment within your current field, these tools offer valuable insights.

By diving into the interplay of your interests with other aspects of your personality and goals, you’ll discover which environments and tasks are most likely to bring you long-term engagement and satisfaction.

Personality assessments

Personality assessments shed light on how you approach tasks, collaborate with others, and thrive in different work environments. These insights ensure that your career decisions align with your natural tendencies, strengths, and preferences, promoting both success and well-being.

I use evidence-based tools like the Big Five personality framework to provide a comprehensive understanding of your work style. While tools like the MBTI have limitations, they can still offer helpful perspectives. If you’ve completed other personality assessments, I’m happy to include them in our discussions for a fuller picture.

Values assessments

Values often play a critical but overlooked role in career decisions. While skills and interests are important, it’s the alignment—or misalignment—of your work with your core values that often determines long-term fulfillment.

By identifying what truly matters to you—whether it’s independence, creativity, collaboration, or something else—we can design a career path that feels both meaningful and successful. This ensures your work aligns not just with what you do well, but also with what you care about most.

Aptitude tests

Cognitive assessments explore areas like logical reasoning, verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, and spatial-figural reasoning. These tests create a detailed profile of your strengths, helping you make career decisions based on your natural aptitudes.

This type of assessment is especially useful for those at the start of their careers, helping them identify roles that align with their potential. It’s also valuable for experienced professionals who feel misaligned in their current role or are considering a significant career shift.

You’ll receive a clear profile of your cognitive strengths and areas for growth, with comparisons to population averages for added context. While this isn’t an IQ test, it provides actionable insights to guide your career planning.

Additional assessments

In some cases, additional assessments may be recommended to address specific areas of professional or personal development. These might include:

  • Stress and Burnout: Identify areas of strain and develop strategies to boost resilience and well-being.

  • Leadership Potential: Gain insights into your leadership style and opportunities for growth if you’re considering or refining a leadership role.

  • Work Engagement: Understand your level of motivation and fulfillment in your current role or organization.

If you have a particular assessment in mind or are curious about exploring specific areas, feel free to reach out. I am happy to discuss incorporating additional tools.

What sets my process apart?

  • Scientifically validated tools: I only use assessments backed by research, ensuring reliable and actionable insights.

  • Comprehensive feedback: Every assessment is explained in detail, helping you connect the dots between your results and career opportunities.

  • Long-term value: These insights are designed to support you not just now, but throughout your entire career journey.
